At Heartland Community Bank, the year has been equally challenging. We did not participate in the sub-prime mortgage activity that caused significant problems for some of the larger banks, but we have felt the affects of the economic slow down through our customers. Despite this, we remain well capitalized and continue to grow and most importantly, lend money to qualified borrowers.

In 2008, we opened two new branch offices, one on the east side of Greenwood and the other, our sixth location, in New Whiteland. This continues to show our commitment that was determined over eleven years ago when we established the Bank, which was to provide extraordinary banking services to the residents of Johnson County.
